Frequently Asked Questions

  • What time should I arrive at the marina the day of the charter?
    All divers are required to arrive no later than 6:15am the day of their charter. The boat leaves the dock promptly at 7:00am. Late divers will forfeit their spot and no rescheduling will be provided.
  • Do I have to pay for my charter up front?
    Payment is due at the time of booking through our secure online booking platform.
  • Can I pay you at the boat?

  • Can I book over the phone or via email?
    We only accept bookings through our secure online booking platform.
  • Can I get a refund?
    No refunds will be issued on purchases. We will work with you to reschedule your dive charter within 12 months from the original purchase date.
  • Do you provide SCUBA gear?
    No. All divers are required to bring their own SCUBA dive gear. Tanks are not included in the charter fee.
  • How many people are required for the charter to launch?
    We will only run a charter with a minimum of 4 divers.
  • Can I drift dive?
    At this time, we will not be offering drift diving charters. All dives will be wreck dives and an anchor line will be secured from the boat to the wreck below.
  • Do I have to sign a waiver or release?
    All divers are required to digitally sign a waiver at the time of booking online. Waivers must be completed and submitted before the date of dive charter. We will not accept waivers at the boat.
  • Can I bring my waiver to the boat?

  • What can I bring on the boat?
    Divers can only bring their SCUBA gear, a towel, and change of clothes, a valid government-issued photo ID, and a current diver certification card. Cameras and mobile phones are also permitted.
  • Do you serve alcohol?
    No alcohol will be provided. Divers are prohibited from bringing alcohol aboard the boat.
  • Can I bring my own alcohol?
    No alcohol will be provided. Divers are prohibited from bringing alcohol aboard the boat.
  • Can I bring a cooler?
    Coolers are prohibited aboard the boat. We have a large cooler on board and we will provide snacks and drinks.
  • What is your surface interval policy?
    Surface intervals are required between dives. Interval times begin when the last diver of the group arrives at the boat deck.

  • Can I use the boat cabin?
    Absolutely! You may enjoy the cabin on the Explorer at any time. However, you must be out of your wetsuit and completely dry.
  • What happens if the weather turns bad while we’re at sea?
    In the event of inclement weather or illness/injury of a diver, vouchers will be issued for the remaining number of dives of the charter. We will work with each diver to reschedule.
  • What happens if someone gets sick or injured at sea and we have to return to the marina?

  • Can I spearfish?
    Spearfishing is prohibited on all dive charters.
  • I bought a Platinum Charter Pass. Can I transfer it to someone else?
    Platinum Charter Passes are valid for the purchasing diver only. The pass cannot be shared or transferred. Lost or stolen passes cannot be replaced.
  • I lost my Platinum Charter Pass. Can you replace it?

  • How do I use my Charter Pass?
    The unique code on the back of your charter pass is good for booking 6 dive charters. When you book a charter, simply enter your harter pass code into the Promo Code field.
  • Do I have to bring NITROX tanks?
    Tanks are not included in the price of the dive charter. You can purchase tank rentals separately online or contact us before the charter to arrange for tanks to be aboard the day of your charter.
  • Do you offer food or drinks on the charter?
    Nautical Divers will be providing snacks and non-alcoholic drinks to all our divers during charters. We'll also be providing divers a delicious pizza lunch after our second tank dive...fresh from our onboard pizza oven.
  • I want to book a group for a dive charter. Can I book everyone at once?
    All divers will need to book individually, as they will all need to sign a waiver and liability release document. The process is quick, easy, and secure!
  • I signed up to be a site member. Will my charter and purchases show up in my account?
    If you signed up to become a member first or during the checkout process, then yes.
  • Does your boat have a bathroom?
    Yes. There is a toilet room in the cabin.
  • How long does a typical dive charter offshore Jacksonville last?
    Plan on being gone from 7am until 5pm.
  • Do you rent air tanks?
    We can provide 3 NITROX tanks to each diver during the charter for an additional fee.
  • What is the minimum diver certification required to go on one of your charters?
    We require all divers to be certified Advanced Open Water Divers with NITROX certification or be accompanied by a certified dive instructor if the diver is an Advanced Open Water Diver student.

  • Are student divers allowed on your charters?
    The only students allowed on our charters are Advanced Open Water Diver students who are already NITROX certified and accompanied by a dive instructor.
